Borage (Seeds)

Borage is a versatile and attractive herb with large, fuzzy leaves and vivid blue, star-shaped flowers. The blooms have a mild cucumber flavour and are highly attractive to bees, especially bumblebees.

Young leaves can be used fresh in salads or cooked much like spinach. The edible flowers are excellent for adding colour to salads, drinks, desserts, and garnishes. They can also be frozen into ice cubes for a decorative touch in summer beverages.

Borage may self-sow in the garden and is also considered deer resistant, making it a useful addition to herb gardens, pollinator gardens, and mixed borders.
