Parris Island Cos Romaine Lettuce is a classic heirloom variety known for its large, upright heads, crisp texture, and mild, flavourful leaves. Thick green outer leaves surround tender, pale centres that remain succulent even when the plants reach full size.

Plants can be spaced closely and harvested young for gourmet baby leaves, or given more room to mature into impressive heads up to 30 cm (12") tall. This makes Parris Island a versatile choice for both baby leaf production and full-size romaine.

Dating back to 1952, this dependable heirloom also offers tolerance to tipburn and mosaic virus and has earned the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
