Amish Paste Organic Tomato is a classic heirloom Roma-type tomato prized for its rich flavour, firm texture, and excellent sauce-making qualities. The deep red fruits are meaty, nearly seedless, and contain less juice than many slicing tomatoes, making them ideal for thick sauces, pastes, canning, and cooking.
Dating back to the late 1800s and originating from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, this productive heirloom continues producing clusters of large fruits over a long season. The tomatoes can vary in shape from plum-like to oxheart, sometimes even appearing in both forms on the same plant.
The vigorous indeterminate vines can grow over 1.8 m (6') tall and require sturdy staking or support. Plants continue producing heavy yields well into late summer and fall.
