Rates And Methods Of Application
Established Lawns:
- Apply 25 lbs per 1500 ft² or more for greater benefits
- Water thoroughly after the application to help break up and expand the pellets
- Apply 2-4 times a year from spring to early fall
New Lawns:
- Properly prepare seedbed area
- Apply 25 lbs per 500 ft² and blend with the soil
- The seedbed has to be smooth and level to help the germination of the seeds (or the sod rooting)
- Remove any debris or small rocks
- Rolls surface
- Spread seeds or lay sod
- Keep the soil moist
- 4 weeks after germination of seeds or laying of sod follow the established lawn application instructions above for the next application
Gardens & Landscapes:
- At start of season spread 25 lbs per 150 ft²
- Mix into top 15 cm of earth if possible for best results
- During the season spread 10cm around plants (enough to partially cover the ground)
- Re-apply every month
Trees & Shrubs:
- Dig a hole 3 times the width of the root ball and just as deep as the root ball
- Slope the sides of the hole inward to 45 degrees
- Loosen soil in the bottom of the hole with a garden fork
- Mix 1 part peat pellets with 3 parts soil removed from the hole
- Place the tree/shrub in hole
- Fill around the root ball
- Compress moderately to remove air pockets
- Water and allow to settle
- Add remaining pellet/soil mix
- Water twice a week for 3-4 weeks
