Eggplant - Fingerling Long Purple (Seeds)
PRODUCT DETAILS
Long Purple Eggplant is a classic Italian heirloom known for its slender, dark purple fruits and dependable production. Also sometimes called Fingerling or Long Purple Italian, this variety has been grown in North American gardens since the 1850s.
The club-shaped fruits grow approximately 20–25 cm (8–10") long and about 6 cm (2.5") in diameter. The flesh is firm and mild, making it excellent for roasting, grilling, sautéing, and other cooked dishes where it readily takes on surrounding flavours.
Plants are stocky and productive, typically producing four or more fruits each. This variety performs especially well in hot weather and is also a good choice for northern growing regions. It can be grown successfully in 3–5 gallon patio containers.
