Blue Spear Lavender is a showy English lavender cultivar prized for its rich blue-toned flower spikes and attractive grey-green foliage. Unlike many lavenders, it can bloom in its first year from seed, making it suitable as an annual in colder climates.
Plants have an upright, mounded growth habit and reach approximately 28–33 cm (11–13") tall with a spread of about 28 cm (11"). Its compact form makes it an excellent choice for containers, borders, and closely spaced plantings.
From late spring through the end of summer, the fragrant flower spikes attract bees and other pollinators while adding colour and fragrance to the garden.
