Buttercrunch Butterhead Lettuce is a classic Bibb-type variety prized for its tender texture and excellent flavour. It forms compact rosettes of soft, dark green leaves surrounding a pale, tender heart.

The leaves are especially well suited to fresh salads and lettuce wraps. Unlike some lettuces, the small hearts hold their quality well in warmer weather without becoming bitter.

Buttercrunch also performs well in cooler conditions, making it a versatile choice for spring and fall growing. With protection from a cold frame, cloche, or greenhouse, it can even be grown into the winter months.
