Description

Variety originated in USA. Visually appealing crisp, dark glossy green savoyed leaves up to 25 cm (10”) high. Slow to bolt to seed in summer heat. Loose head variety with the crunchiness of a crisphead lettuce. Mouth-watering in salads! Matures in 45 days.

How to Grow

Sow seeds in a sunny site in successive crops every 2 weeks from April to August as long as both the soil and weather are cool. Seed typically germinates in 7-10 days.

Planting Depth: 3 m (1/8”). Seed Spacing: 12.5 mm (1/2”). Thin To: 25 cm (10”). Row Width: 45 cm (18”).

COMMENTS: Work in lots of compost as lettuce does best in an organic, well draining fertile soil. Harvest by pulling entire plant or by cutting leaves at least 2.5 cm (1”) above the base to encourage new leaf growth. A great kitchen container garden plant.
