Cabbage - Pak Choi Mei Qing Choi Hybrid (Chinese Cabbage) (Seeds)
Description
Variety originated in Japan. Visually enticing compact vase-like plants grow to 25 cm (10”) in height. Tightly whorled flattened pale green stems lead into oval, deeper green leaves. Texture is crisp yet tender with a slightly sweet taste. Matures in 40 days.
How to Grow
Direct sow in a sunny site every two weeks starting in mid-spring through to mid-summer as long as temperature remains cool.
Planting Depth: 6 mm (1/4”). Seed Spacing: 25 mm (1”). Thin to: 35 cm (16”). Row Width: 45 cm (18”).
COMMENTS: Keep evenly watered. Grows best in cooler weather. Ideal for stir-fries or salads. Harvest by cutting plants off at their base with a sharp knife. Plants will bolt (produce a flower stock) rapidly with the arrival of warmer weather so monitor plants closely as summer heat builds in. When plants bolt, their great taste and enticing texture are quickly lost.
