Green Pearl Bitter Melon is an early-producing Vietnamese-type bitter gourd, also known as balsam pear or bitter melon. It produces shiny green, warty fruits that grow approximately 22–30 cm (9–12") long.

The fruits are commonly used in soups, stir-fries, and other savoury dishes. Before cooking, remove the white seeds and pith, then slice or chop the flesh into bite-sized pieces.

For the straightest fruits, grow the vigorous vines on a sturdy trellis and allow the melons to hang freely as they develop.
