Sunflower - Russian Mammoth ORGANIC (Seeds)

Russian Mammoth Organic Sunflower is a towering heirloom variety that lives up to its name, growing up to an impressive 3 m (10') tall. Its enormous flower heads average approximately 50 cm (20") across and are packed with large, edible seeds.

The grey-striped seeds have the classic appearance of confectionery sunflower seeds and can be harvested for roasting and snacking. As the heavy heads mature, they begin to face downward and also provide an excellent food source for birds.

Because of their tremendous size and weight, plants benefit from staking or other support. Russian Mammoth is also a fun variety for children to grow thanks to its large, easy-to-handle seeds and incredible growth throughout the summer.
